CultureSource serves as the regranting agency for the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs (MCACA) Minigrant program in Region 10b, Wayne County. The Minigrant program is a partnership between MCACA and Regional Regranting Agencies throughout the state.

Minigrants support a broad range of artistic expression from all cultures through projects which preserve, produce or present traditional or contemporary arts and culture and/or arts education. In addition, the Minigrant program includes a category for Professional or Organizational Development (POD) to assist nonprofit arts and cultural organizations, administrators, and artists with opportunities that specifically improve their business management and/or brings the artist or the arts organization to another level artistically.

Nonprofit organizations located in Wayne County may apply for up to $4,000 per Arts Project and up to $1,500 for Professional/Organizational Development. There are matching funds requirements and applications are competitively scored by a panel of locally-based reviewers with experience in the arts, culture, heritage, education, and nonprofit best practices. There are two rounds of funding per fiscal year, with the following deadlines:

  • The FY2020 Round 1 deadline is August 3, 2019.
